Hello there, August

I had a wonderful visit from my friend from Kenya, Karen, and her 2 gorgeous kiddos.
She bought flowers and biscuits.
Bliss!

Then we went to fetch Son#3 from his new daycare, happy as a lark, and to fetch the organic veggies we order from the organic farmer every week, just around the corner in the next village.
It almost sounds idyllic.

The in-out-laws are coming in a second, to fetch Son#1 for a sleepover which will last until Sunday.
A bit of a reprieve, phew.
Summer holidays aren't holidays at all, more like childminding-sessions.
Sigh.

It's hot today and I am listless and cranky.
Hormones?
I dunno.
This afternoon, I'm sticking Son#3 in bed, then reading on the couch while Son#2 wastes time watching TV.
Tomorrow is hopefully another day, filled with opportunities to be a better mother.

The husband is back to his pre-holiday stress levels.
Something has to change, but in an economic crisis, it's difficult to engineer this change.
The world of work and friends and family is getting smaller.

My dad is doing well, 2 days of wakefulness, better spirits, better eating.
They're weaning him off his medication.
Go Daddykins!
Just keep going!
